Here, I am sharing my own experiences with the readers the effective ways to find peace and serenity in daily life.

Here, attention is given to consider a few effective ways to follow  for finding peace and serenity in daily life.

Naturally, health of mind is more important as it has direct impact on physical health.

Therefore, mind must be fresh, alert and vigilant.

To get the mind fresh, the effective way is to enjoy natural events like sunrise, sunset, birds chirping eagerly and energetically to welcome the sunrise and so on.  Sunrise is preferred to sunset.  In my personal experience, I find sunrise more inspirational and mind refreshing.

This act immediately brings us close to the mother nature.

Here, I am sharing my own experiences with the readers what to do  to find peace and serenity in daily life.

The important pre-condition is  that one must be sincere in own approach. There should be no trace of any doubts in mind.

Naturally, health of mind is more important as it has direct impact of physical health.

Therefore, mind must be fresh, alert and vigilant.

To get the mind fresh, the effective way is to enjoy natural events like sunrise, sunset, birds in the morning chirping eagerly and energetically to welcome the sunrise and so on.  Sunrise is preferred to sunset.  In my personal experience, I find sunrise more inspirational and mind refreshing.
  
Seashore at the time of high tide is another such example.  One can find so many things.

And in the company of the mother nature, we feel so secure and receiving her love like a child sleeping in the lap of its mother.

Seeing beautiful flowers (not in bouquet or garland etc.) is another effective way.

Chanting the name of God (Japa) is another effective way. Different types of rosary are used for the purpose.

But as I have said earlier, one should be sincere in own approach.  I have seen many people while I was commuting, holding the rosary in a cloth bag or plastic bag covered duly so that no body can see and engaged in chanting the name of God.  They often used to look out of the window to see which station was approaching.  This type of chanting the name of God is not advisable.  Even few people I have seen doing it in a speed.  I think in such cases, the process becomes sort of a mechanical one, there is not emotional involvement.

Chanting of God's name should be in the way we enjoy chocolate  or icecream which we do by enjoying the taste of the same in our mouth,especially the tongue. We just do not gulp the same with water like we do while taking tablets.

The purpose of chanting God's name is to block the way of the thoughts trying to enter our mind.  

It is like this - having completed one cycle of the chanting, there should be a gap of time.  Feel the inner silence.  Enjoy the emptiness in the mind. And the moment we see any thoughts trying to enter the mind, start the next cycle of chanting the name of God.  And so on.

The entire process ensures minimum thoughts during the period of chanting, thus, getting the mind free from burden of thoughts.

Such a mind is comparatively more fresh,light, alert and vigilant.

We should avoid getting our mind engaged in past regrets and future worries and train it to remain in the PRESENT.

It is our experience, our mind is constantly engaged in  finding out ways and means to apply in pursuing some or other desires.

The effective way to keep the mind burden-less, is one should have no desires in life. 

One should always give happiness to others in a self-less manner.

This paves the way for experiencing happiness and serenity in daily life.

Having applied our sarasar vivek ie power of discretion, one is able to set own goals to be achieved.  And of course,the next stage is challenging one. 


HOW TO SELECT THE PATH TO ACHIEVE THE SET GOAL


At this stage one finds temptation of shortcuts irresistible, which most likely include amoral, unethical practises, as also unlawful practises to achieve the set goals in a shorter period of time, involving minimum of  hard work and sacrifices at personal levels.

If one understands and respects  the meaning and significance of ideal values of life, one will not yield to such temptations on the path of achieving set goals. 

It is obvious one is tempted to opt for a common easy path with smaller reward achieved in a  shorter duration. It is human tendency to look for comfort, ease and attractive rewards while pursuing the set goal. It is another matter that one realises the fact that such rewards are not long lasting. 
Then what are the long lasting rewards and how they are realized? 
One must be aware that the success achieved by sheer hard work, personal sacrifice while pursuing the goal is long lasting and has potential to give one the feeling of fulfillment in life.
The consideration of a common easy path with a smaller reward be avoided and the more difficult uncommon path demanding hard work and sacrifice but which promises a more valued reward should be preferred which justifies the achievement significantly.

HOW TO SELECT THE PATH TO ACHIEVE THE SET GOAL

What our sarasar vivek suggests ?
For this purpose, one must view the things in a proper way - understanding the significance of the life values, the polarities in the values like truth and untruth, right and wrong, moral and amoral, and so on.

This awareness one will make right choice while making decision.

Having this awareness I think one will definitely prefer a more difficult uncommon path with a more valued reward which prove longer lasting in the course of time paving the way for attaining fulfilment in life also.

There is always a stage in life when one gives serious thoughts on Healthy Habits to do Everyday. This may be due to realizing the reality of the financial implications in long run. And of course, having understood the meaning of the saying - health is wealth.

'I am not feeling well, my sugar,my BP , feel tired ' 

We often hear such disappointing statements from people. And we can observe them really suffering,living a life waiting to end some how. 

What can be the reason ?

And further, at this stage they can not even think of doing regular exercises and related activities to regain good health.

And this becomes vicious circle hard to break.

The main thing is that very few people are aware that health of our mind directly affects our physical health.

You know what, for example, every morning first thing a diabetic person has in mind is to have tea without sugar. This follows the feeling to take insulin tabs without fail. The things go on. When we exchange pleasantries the question is how are you ? And the complaints start at once - my sugar you know — my BP you know…… and so on.

The point is our subconscious mind gets hammering right from morning and continues to get hammered non-stop.

And our subconscious mind being most obedient, which controls the vital inner functions in the body,implements our thoughts effectively, and the hammering we do is thus reflected on our health.

Hundred percent in such cases there is no enthusiasm,but a kind of lethargic attitude is developed, unknowingly or due to ignorance.

And when your question is put forward people eagerly start advising you to do regular exercise,morning walk,pranayama, meditation, pancha karma, ayurvedic alternatives and what not. The diet aspects are also covered with enthusiasm ! They all can not be blamed,you know,they also are told to be sympathetic to others. Life is interesting !

I do not intend to say not to follow them.

But what I intend to emphasize here is that we must first take care of mental health.

Beware of what we feed to our mind - by way of reading,watching TV serials,cinemas - throughout the day.


HEALTHY HABITS TO DO EVERYDAY  

And especially so during the period of ten minutes before we go to bed and immediately after getting up in the morning.

During this important period we can use self affirmation statements regarding health,our attitude, whatever we desire.

This has precondition of giving due respect to supreme values in life - freedom, peace,love,truth,compassion - in respect of every living being.

Have feelings of gratitude while having food after offering to God.

Practicing this difficult task daily one develops that enthusiasm and energy to be able to do regular physical exercises and related activities.

This ensures to keep oneself healthy, if followed earnestly.

And let us not forget that what we implement with great difficulty and sacrifice, if it gives better results,be sure it is sustainable for longer period of time,which is of course most desirable.

In this article, my own learning while studying is shared with the readers, who may be parents or students.  I hope this will prove helpful to them.

Before writing on the subject of the things a student should not do, let me enlist certain things which are important for a student.


Allowing mind to get distracted.

The students should not allow their mind getting distracted.
The students should concentrate on their target, i e getting adequate and effective education which is expected from them.

First step is realizing the significance of concentration.
In this regard one can recall the story of the great Archer, Arjuna and his brothers while learning archery from Guru Dronacharya.
Guru Dronacharya gave all of them a test wherein they were required to take aim at the eye of a parrot sitting on a branch of the tree.
Then the Guru asked each one of the students what he was seeing.
Every student answered in a different way.
One said I can see the blue sky and the parrot.
Another said I can see green branch and the parrot.
Next one said I can see all the blue sky,the green branch,and the parrot.
Arjuna said I can see only the eye of the parrot.
Guru Dronacharya was immensely pleased with the answer and told his students that the level of one's concentration should be like that of Arjuna.
The moral of the story is obvious.
One's set goal is eye of the parrot. 
The branch of tree, the blue sky, and all other things together have potential to distract one self away from the goal.
Therefore one has to identify the things likely to create hurdle by causing distraction in the path of pursuing one's set goal and keep himself away.

The Things A Student Should Not Do 

Secondly, having identified the hurdles of distraction, students should carefully remove them effectively at once.
Therefore, it is essential that a student should not allow himself to be carried away by the distractions around - whiling away the time, engaging in harmful activities, politics, entertainment and so on.  
Thirdly, the students should not have cine stars and celebrities as their idol. Instead they should have real life heroes as their idols.
I am sure that a student himself is in a better position to identify such things and keep away from them.
With intense desire to achieve the set goal and realizing the need to concentrate on the set goal one can identify and modify ways to concentrate and pursue the goal in effective manners.
One's sarasar vivek plays effective role in this direction.

  • Books etc
  • New mobile phone -latest model
  • New laptop
  • New stylish outfits, track suit,yoga mat etc
  • Designer outfits
  • Formal n casuals
  • Facials etc
  • Ayurvedic Pancha karma treatment
Well,the list can be extended more.
What I mean to say is that we must see the above things as means to gain happiness. And that feeling of projecting oneself to be a modern fellow who lives according to the modern times.
But I prefer to look beyond and above the normal view. And try to seek more significant insight in day today affairs.
As I said in the beginning, we anticipate happiness using the above things.
But feeling happiness is not enough for us,we look ways for expressing it and further sharing it with others.
And we may not be aware,but the ultimate aim is the serenity of the mind and fulfillment in life.
And then we go on investing our time,money and energy in planning what to buy (definitely) in certain period in near future.
There are alternatives to the above,yes.
For this we have to identify the superfluous things to be avoided and recognize the things of real significance to seize in life. And make efforts to buy it.
A rational approach suggests us to buy happiness,serenity of mind leading to fulfillment.
The term buy indicates the input of time,money and energy available with every one.
Dependence on the mother nature negates spending money. For example, witnessing a sunrise in the morning gives happiness,feeling of getting inspired, and serenity.

The essential input is that of time and physical energy, and of course strong will power to do so !
The feeling of happiness,joy,inspiration is incomparable.
And further when we can express these feelings and share it with others it leads to the path of achieving fulfillment in life. That is what , in fact I am feeling now.
And most importantly,the process can be followed through our entire life !
