RESPONSIBILITY ; THE SEVENTH SENSE

This article is written to encourage the readers to understand the importance of embracing own responsibility, making wise choices, and by accomplishing  them to live a fulfilled life.

Before I start on the topic, let me share with my readers some good news.  This blog, Sarasar Vivek has been honored by  the panelist of FeedSpot  and selected my blog Sarasar Vivek as one of the Top 80 Motivational Blogs on the web.  This has given me loads of energy to work more hard to share the wisdom of life with my beloved readers.

I am grateful to FeedSpot.com for this prestigious honor.

Now, coming to our subject.

The five senses human being has - sight, hearing, taste, smell and  touch- help perceive the world around. All these senses are essential for survival in life as well as achieving what is desired.

And the mother nature is generous in case of a weak sense, other senses are more powerful in that particular individual. A blind person generally has powerful hearing sense, touch, smell and taste.

The female gender is said to have sixth sense, the sense of intuition that alarms them of the potential threat lurking around to attack their very modesty.

Now let me define the sense of responsibility as the  seventh sense.

The sense of responsibility is inherent to realize, accept and fulfill own duties demonstrating integration, accountability, and commitment.

This very sense guides us to apply our sarasar vivek for acting consciously to take proper decisions and accept their consequences and thus live a fulfilled life.

What makes responsibility a sense ?

Because-

-it alerts us when we neglect our duties

-it gives us directions to make right choices

-it protects us and our near and dear ones from the consequences of our negligence

-it serves in the ultimate interests of the society, nation, and the world.

What if we neglect our responsibility ?

Well, without the sense of responsibility, the individual life may go astray. That is obvious. As a result, his near and dear ones will be miserable. This may lead to collapse of the social health and structure. Just as our life gets adversely affected even if we loose one of the five senses, if we loose or ignore the sense of responsibility, the results will be devastating not only at individual level but also further to the level of family, society, nation, the world and the whole humanity.

This fact makes the seventh sense responsibility  the essential sense. This seventh sense help us in living a meaningful life.

I remember one incident in my college days when one of my senior friend met me on the street passing hurriedly. Waving him I said, in a hurry? He said yes.  And that he was going to bring milk for his young child. At the same time another common friend came there and I overheard them contemplating to go and have a drink.  Saying good bye I moved on.  Later on I  came to know that this friend reached his home very late, of course after enjoying his drink session.  I came to know this because I met his neighbor going to bring the required milk for the poor child.

This is neglecting prime responsibility.

Shekhar was my good old friend. He once forgot for many days to bring medicines required for his old father, suffering from high bp. The result was his father suffered from paralysis.

This is because of lack of responsibility towards his old father.

Arun was my good friend. He was never serious about his studies. He paid more attention to his other activities like enjoying movies. The result was obvious.

This is because of negligence towards own responsibility.

Ashok was my young close relative but went astray with alcohol and dance bar events.  He completely ignored his young son and lovely wife. The result one can guess easily. He met an early end of his promising life.

This is because of lack of the sense of responsibility.

Another example I must share with my readers is that of one of my bosses who was engrossed with office work so much that he did not give time to his family, family of his beloved wife and two children. The devastating result was divorce.

The reason ?  Sheer lack of responsibility.

Now, what if we understand and fulfill our responsibility ?

Knowing our responsibility fully well and having ability to apply all the resources at our disposal to fulfill them, even by making personal sacrifices, if required, enable one to live life with fulfillment. And this is possible only when we use our  Sarasar Vivek to know-

-what is right and wrong

-what is good and bad

-what is ethical and unethical

-what is legal and illegal

This awareness enables one not only  to make right decisions but also accept the consequences of the decisions made.

When an individual lives life effortlessly achieving fulfillment, the benefits are also shared by his family, society, nation, the world and the whole humanity.

The seventh sense of responsibility plays major role in -

Personal life - in deciding and taking actions, controlling emotions, making necessary sacrifices.

Family life - Extending support and caring for family members.

Social life - sharing and contributing towards social well being.

Professional life - giving priority to ethics, devotion and integrity in work.

Moral - Doing and adhering to right even when no body is observing.

Natural Environment - being aware of the need to look after the mother nature in the interest of future generations.

Now, my dear readers, I will like to encourage you to spare few minutes to reflect on your seventh sense of responsibility and contemplate seriously on the effective ways to apply it in your daily life. This will ensure achieving fulfillment in life.

Next time ........
